Today has been a relaxing day - we started off by not setting an alarm which meant we all got a little extra sleep. After a leisurely breakfast, we decided to try and find Menlo Castle, a sight recommended by some of Andrew's friends.
We went to pick up our car and then drove to the vicinity of where we thought the castle was (our GPS was not showing Menlo Castle). We first found Menlo Cemetary - sounded like it might be near the castle. We decided to park and explore.
We spent some time in the cemetary reading the gravestones and then hiked along a path that led to a field. We could see the castle off in the distance, but we couldn't reach it from the cemetary. So, we went back to our car and drove a little further toward the castle.
We found a place to park, climbed over a wall, and went into a pasture we were hoping would lead to the castle.
When we finally reached the castle, it was a place where you could climb up to various windows and look outside towards the meadows.
After our visit to Menlo Castle, we drove back to the hostel and fixed a late lunch in the hostel kitchen with some groceries we purchased. We're on a "very European" time schedule today - our late lunch was at 4 pm. After lunch, we've been relaxing and reading on a rainy afternoon. We're planning on eating dinner at 8:30 and then trying to catch some more music on our last night in Galway.
